Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Movie Review
Capsule Review: Not a D&D fan at all? Don't be scared off by Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, a fun and entertaining action-adventure that doesn't take itself too seriously--in fact, its lack of seriousness is its greatest asset.
I'm no D&D fan myself (I think, maybe, I attempted to play it once when I was a kid in the early 90s), but the likeable cast headlined by Chris Pine and a script that plays to their strengths makes this new Dungeons & Dragons a worthwhile jaunt.
The movie is at its best when it's funny; it becomes more generic when it saunters into fantasy action mode. The climax, while well done, is stuff you've seen before; it's the other moments, like when Pine and crew resurrect corposes to interrogate them, that stand out.
