Cry-Baby Movie Synopsis & Plot

Johnny Depp stars in John Waters' hilarious juvenile delinquent musical comedy extravaganza. Wade "Cry-Baby" Walker (Depp) is the coolest, toughest hood in his Baltimore high school. His ability to shed one single tear drives all the girls wild, especially Allison Vernon-Williams (Amy Locane). A beautiful, rich "square," Allison finds herself drawn into the world of Cry-Baby and his "drape" pals. Soon she finds herself eagerly inhaling the evil influences of rockabilly music and fast cars. It's the hysterical, high-throttle world of 1954, complete with rousing musical numbers and a diverse cast including Polly Bergen, Susan Tyrrell, Ricki Lake, Traci Lords and many more!

MOVIE REVIEW

One of the weirder musicals of its day, "Cry-Baby," starring Johnny Depp and Amy Locane, plays out like a spoof of "Grease" while performing satire on the 1950's, high school and everything else that needed to be done to squirt out the movie.
